icon A note from Principal Schmidt

Welcome to Terrace Learning Center!

My name is Sheila Schmidt and I am the principal at Terrace Early Learning Center and I am truly honored to serve the students, staff and families within the entire Ankeny community. I have a degree in Elementary Education, a Masters in Special Education and an Advanced Studies Certification in Educational Leadership Principalship. I have been in the educational setting for approximately 30 years. Additionally, I have spent the past 6 years as an educational leader in the role of Principal at Marshall Elementary in Dubuque, IA and Farley Elementary in Farley, IA. The wonderful staff at Terrace are dedicated to our mission of partnering with parents and the community to inspire our students to love their first years of school. We want to give them the best start on their path of being lifelong learners. We have the unique responsibility of supporting, impacting and encouraging our young students as they begin their first steps into the school environment. As a staff, we will work hard to create a positive, caring, and safe learning space so that all our students can grow both academically and socially as they learn to love school!
